This is the brief on the key announcements from the News from the Nest newsletter. Okay. We're diving right into the really urgent stuff from the Lawrence High School, that's LHS, news bulletin. We're going to focus on schedule changes, some conference things, and event deadlines you really need to know about. Like now.
Speaker 1:First up, okay, schedule change. Why? Mandatory state field testing. This is happening Wednesday and Thursday, November. So if you're in ninth, tenth, or eleventh grade, you'll be testing from 07:40 a.
Speaker 1:M. All the way to 10:10 a. M. That means period one gets pushed back starting later at 10:14 a. M.
Speaker 1:And seniors heads up, this is super important. There's absolutely no second bus run for you guys if you're not testing on those days. So you gotta figure out your arrival. Second thing, fall teacher conferences. They're coming up quick.
Speaker 1:We've got November 24 with sessions from 12:30 to 02:40PM, and then again five to 8PM. And also November 25 from 12:30 to 02:40PM. Now the scheduling portal that actually closed yesterday. So if you missed it, don't panic, but you do need to email the teacher directly. Okay?
Speaker 1:Also, need some academic help? Peer tutoring's kicking off. The Cardinal Nest, that's our National Honor Society or NHS, tutoring program starts November 12. It's in the library during resource periods, you know, your study hall time. Just make sure you grab a pass to get in.
Speaker 1:Finally, let's get to the fun stuff, right? The LHS Theatre Company is putting on Pride and Prejudice. It runs November starting at 7PM. Should be great. Oh, and that Powder Puff flag football game?
Speaker 1:It got moved. It's now Thursday, November 20, 6PM sharp on the turf field. It's $5 to get in and watch. Plus, keep an eye out for the chocolate chip cookie sale on the fourteenth. Gotta support those fundraisers.
Speaker 1:There's also a handbag bingo fundraiser happening that same day, but tickets are almost gone for that one. So yeah definitely keep these immediate dates and deadlines front and center to get through this busy month.
